Transforming Your Smile With Painfree Conservative Ceramic Veneers

We love a total smile restoration! Because of our wholistic approach to dentistry, we love even more doing so conservatively with the gold standard of cosmetic dentistry using special porcelain-like veneers called “emprethins’. These veneers are able to restore unevenly spaced, chipped, stained or crooked teeth into stunning ‘Hollywood’ smiles. And who wouldn’t want that?!

What is the difference between Ceramic veneers, crowns, and implants?

Veneers aren’t the same as dental implants or crowns. Veneers cover only the front surface of the tooth, while crowns encase the entire tooth. Veneers are also thinner than crowns: about 1 mm, compared to 2 mm. Veneers are less invasive, too. If you need a crown, your dentist will have to file or ground down more of your tooth to prepare it for the crown than would be necessary for the application of a veneer. Meanwhile, an implant is installed in the bone to replace a missing tooth, and a crown is placed on top of that. It can take several months after the implant is placed for the area around it to heal enough for the replacement tooth to be placed on top.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your dentist will tell you how best to care for your particular veneers, but in general caring for dental veneers involves regular brushing and flossing as well as perhaps wearing a mouth guard at night to protect against accidental damage. It may also be best to avoid hard foods like peanuts or some hard candy.
It’s difficult to provide a general answer to this question, as dental veneers fulfill a variety of roles. Some are there to repair or cover damage done to the tooth, like chipping or discoloration. In that case, your dentist will likely try to make them look as much like your natural teeth as possible. Sometimes folks get multiple veneers in order to brighten up their smile or otherwise improve their appearance. In those cases, your veneers will be personalized to you based on your desires and your dentist’s recommendations. Your situation is unique, and your dentist can best tell you what to expect from your new veneers.
